Following are the answers to frequently asked questions about the SuperCruise.

Q. From where does the SuperCruise depart?

A. The 2010 and 2011 SuperCruise sailings embark from the Port of Miami. Please visit the ITINERARY page to see the complete itinerary for the 2010 itinerary.

Q. What is the deposit amount required to reserve a cabin for the 2010 SuperCruise?

A. A $250 per person deposit is required, with monthly payments due on the 15th of each month, beginning on January 15. Final balance is due by July 1, 2010. (For reservations made after March 31, final balance will be due by August 15, 2010.) You will receive a monthly statement showing your outstanding balance.

Q. What is the refund policy?

A. Deposits are fully-refundable until 15 days after the date of initial booking. Guests cancelling their reservations after 15 days will forfeit their deposit and any payments made. Any cancellations after July 1, 2010 will incur a penalty of 100% of the fare.

Q. Is a passport required?

A. All passengers on the SuperCruise require a valid passport. Passengers denied boarding due to lack of a valid passport will not receive a refund.

Q. Will the SuperCruise be affected by the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico?

A. The SuperCruise does not sail in the Gulf of Mexico and is thus unaffected by the oil spill.

Q. Is the SuperCruise a full-ship charter?

A. Yes. Capital Jazz Productions (CJP) charters an entire ship for each year's SuperCruise sailing. CJP also programs all of the entertainment during the cruise.

Q. What is the weather like at the ports we are visiting in 2010?

A. Following are the average temperatures in October for each of the ports of call on the 2010 SuperCruise:

        St. Thomas: Hi 88°F / Lo 78°F

        San Juan: Hi 88°F / Lo 75°F

        Grand Turk: Hi 90°F / Lo 85°F

Q. What is the weather like at the ports we will be visiting in 2011?

A. Following are the average temperatures in October for each of the ports of call on the 2011 SuperCruise:

        Ocho Rios: Hi 90°F / Lo 77°F

        Belize: Hi 90°F / Lo 68°F

        Cozumel: Hi 89°F / Lo 71°F

Q. Why do we arrive in San Juan so late in the day (2010 SuperCruise)?

A. The cruising distance from Miami to San Juan necessitates a late afternoon arrival. The cruise line offers a number of optional evening excursions in San Juan. The evening port call also allows guests to enjoy some of San Juan's nightlife.

Q. What is the cost for having a third or fourth person sharing a cabin?

A. There are a limited number of triple and quad-occupancy cabins on the ship. For these cabins, the first two guests are each charged the full double-occupancy price. Additional guests in the same cabin are each charged half of the double-occupancy price.

Q. Are children permitted on the SuperCruise?

A. Bringing children is permitted, but not encouraged. There are no onboard activities for children during the SuperCruise and all children's venues on the ship will be closed. Pricing for adults and children is the same, regardless of age.

Q. Are there discounts for groups?

A. We offer incentives for groups booking ten (10) or more cabins on the SuperCruise. For more info, please visit our GROUPS page.

Q. I cannot make the entire 7-day cruise. Am I able to start or end my cruise at a port other than Miami?

A. All guests on the SuperCruise must embark from Miami on Oct 23 and disembark in Miami on Oct 30. Disembarking the cruise at any port-of-call may result in fines or detainment by local authorities.

Q. Are cabins available for solo travelers?

A. The vast majority of the cabins on the ship are sold as double-occupancy. Solo travelers who book these cabins must pay double the double-occupancy rate. A limited number of interior and ocean view cabins on Decks 1 and 2 are sold as specially-priced single-occupancy cabins for solo travelers. Please check our PRICING page for pricing and availability on these cabins.

Q. What if I don't have a cabin-mate and don't want to pay for a single cabin?

A. A referral service is available for solo travelers seeking a cabin-mate. Please inquire about this when making your reservation.

Q. Is airfare included in the price of the SuperCruise?

A. No, but we've arranged for discounts on certain airlines for travelers flying to Miami to attend the SuperCruise. See our TRAVEL INFO page for more info.

Q. Is there a host hotel in Miami for guests arriving early?

A. Our host hotel is the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay. A special pre-cruise room rate of $99 is available for our SuperCruise patrons. See our TRAVEL INFO page for more info.

Q. When is the cutoff date for reserving a cabin?

A. Reservations will end when the ship is sold out or one week prior to sailing, whichever occurs first. Please check our PRICING page for updated cabin availability.

Q. Is there a shuttle from the airport to the ship?

A. Yes. All guests on the SuperCruise will receive complimentary shuttle service between the airport and ship on October 23 and 30. This service will be available to and from both local airports: Miami International Airport (MIA) and Ft. Lauderdale International Airport (FLL).

Q. Are tickets required for admission to the nightly headline concerts?

A. Tickets are not required, but show seating is based on dining assignments. Early dining guests are assigned to the late show seating, while late dining guests are assigned to the early show seating.

Q. Do we sell trip insurance?

A. We do not sell this insurance, but you can review various insurance options at www.insuremytrip.com.

Q. What happens in the event of a hurricane?

A. It is rare for a cruise cancellation to occur due to an impending hurricane. Typically, an itinerary deviation is implemented to avoid a storm.

Q. Will I experience motion sickness?

A. Most passengers do not experience motion sickness while sailing on large cruise ships. For those guests who are prone to motion sickness, complimentary Meclizine (Bonine) is available on the ship. If you are concerned about motion sickness, please consult your doctor prior to the cruise for prescription motion sickness patches or wristbands, as the ship does not carry these items.

Q. If I book a cabin on Deck 1, will my cabin be below sea level?

A. No. All passenger cabins on all decks are well above sea level.

Q. Can I wash clothes while on board?
A. In addition to its dry-cleaning and laundry service, the ship also has self-service launderettes with washers, dryers, irons, and ironing boards. The cost is $3 per washer load and $3 per dryer load. Vending machines dispense small boxes of detergent and water softener at $1 per box. (Pricing subject to change.)

Q. Who is the organizer of the SuperCruise?

A. Capital Jazz Productions (CJP) is the producer of the SuperCruise. CJP is best-known as the producer of the annual Capital Jazz Fest, held each June in suburban Washington, D.C. since 1993.
